Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga | Ministry of Education is committed to supporting young people through internship and graduate opportunities that will help kick-start a career in your chosen profession. We’re excited to give young people the chance to gain valuable experience and contacts!

You’ll be working on real projects with experienced colleagues who’ll support you to develop your skills and knowledge and make the most of your time with us. By working at Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga, you will have the opportunity to support improved outcomes for ākonga | learners, whānau and families, communities and wider Aotearoa.

In 2023, we are taking on board graduates for the Graduate Policy Programme and offering the Educational Psychology Internship Scholarships through affiliated universities.

For the Summer Internship Programme, we are taking a little time to pause and review this year and will seek applications from July 2024 for next summer.

Summer Internship Programme

At Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga, we offer a 12-week paid internship programme over summer, which is a great introduction into government in Aotearoa.

We are committed to supporting young people through internship opportunities within education organisations that will help kick-start a career in the education sector.

Psychology Internships

Psychology Internships in education provide a great opportunity to access a rich variety of professional experience necessary to meet your course requirements, and supervised opportunities to interact with schools, whānau and ākonga.

We provide fixed-term employment for the duration of the programme (full academic year) which provides students with practice experience and supervision required from psychology post-graduate programmes. Find out more by clicking here.

Graduate Policy Programme

Every year, we recruit a new cohort of Graduate Policy Analysts to join Te Pou Kaupapahere, our extensive community of policy professionals/colleagues

As a Graduate Policy Analyst at Te Tāhuhu o te Mātauranga | Ministry of Education, you'll be part of an 18-month development programme which will kick-start your career in policy.
