About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga

 

This is a full-time permanent position. The Lead Advisor Learning Support Operations is a key role within Te Pou Taunaki (Learning Support), based in Wellington.

 

In this role, you will lead and support the design, development, and implementation of programmes and services that improve outcomes for ākonga across early learning services, schools and kura. You will work closely with teams across the Ministry, the education sector, and other government agencies to ensure high-quality service delivery and performance.

 

You’ll use data and insights to inform operational decision-making, provide high-quality advice, and lead initiatives that strengthen systems, processes, and service delivery nationally and regionally.

 

You will also play a key leadership role within your team – coaching others, resolving complex issues, and contributing to continuous improvement and innovation.

 

Salary range: $100,296 - $121,490 per annum + KiwiSaver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

About you | Mōhou ake

 

We’re looking for someone who brings strong leadership, analytical thinking, and relationship management skills, and who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

 

You will have experience working in complex organisations and partnering with stakeholders to deliver shared outcomes. You will be confident providing high-quality advice to a range of audiences and using data to inform decisions and improvements.

 

You will also offer:

 

  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and mentor others to achieve results
  • Experience using data and insights to identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing briefings and reports.
  • Experience in project or programme delivery in a complex environment
  • Understanding of public sector systems and processes (desirable)
  • A tertiary qualification or equivalent relevant experience.
  • The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.

Te Pou Taunaki | Learning Support plays a critical role in ensuring children and young people with additional learning needs receive the right support at the right time.

 

The team works across the Ministry and with sector partners to design and deliver services, develop operational frameworks, and support regions to implement effective learning support services that improve outcomes for ākonga and their whānau.
