About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga

 

This is a 3-month fixed-term, full-time opportunity based in our Napier office, supporting teams across the Hawke's Bay and Tairāwhiti region to deliver great outcomes for ākonga.

 

Senior Support Officers work closely with learning support and education teams, providing high quality administrative support across key portfolios. The role covers a broad range of corporate services and operational tasks that help keep our services running smoothly.

 

Key responsibilities include:

 

  • Providing reception and frontline customer support
  • Coordinating fleet vehicles and supporting fleet administration
  • Managing events, meetings, and logistics
  • Facilty management
  • Overseeing shared phone lines and shared mailboxes
  • Supporting general operational and administrative workflows

 

Salary range: $60,879 - $72,999 per annum + KiwiSaver.  The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

We’re looking for someone who brings strong administrative capability and thrives in a collaborative team environment. You will have a strong customer service ethic, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and processes in a busy and dynamic setting.

 

You will also offer:

 

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

About our group and team | Mātau rōpū ake

 

The Business Support Team support and enable the work of the Hawkes Bay Tairāwhiti Learning Support and Education Teams to deliver effective services across the region. The team plays a vital role in contributing to and achieving the Ministry's overall goals

 

Te Mahau | Education Services

 

The Education Services Group provides well-designed, integrated education services that support the impactful and effective operation of education settings to support student achievement and participation. The services help to remove barriers to participation and learning and provide regulatory advice, support and oversight to early learning providers, schools and kura.

 

The Group has three key priorities for Education Services:

 

  • Practice & Guidance: Managing practice and guidance to improve national coordination and consistency, whilst enabling regional autonomy for education service delivery.
  • Integration & Delivery: Providing education support directly to education settings via integrated regional and national services. This includes intervening when necessary to ensure a high standard of operation to support student outcomes and owning key stakeholder relationships to support schooling improvement and stronger outcomes for learners.
  • Monitoring & Improvement: Monitoring and advising on improvements to the effectiveness, efficiency and equity of services for achievement and progression, and attendance and participation. This includes monitoring education provider performance against regulations and intervening as required.
