About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga

 

This is a permanent, part-time position (0.9 FTE) based in our Lower Hutt office. 

 

Provide specialist support to babies and children who are deaf or hard of hearing their parents/caregivers, families and whānau, and in accordance with the goals, objectives and policies of the Ministry of Education.

 

Provide specialist support which  has an early years focus (birth to Year 3 at school)  is family and whānau centred  uses a routine and strength based approach based on priorities identified by parents/caregivers, families and whānau o builds adult capability through a coaching approach o is provided in natural settings-homes, early childhood services and schools o is culturally responsive o is on request for students verified under the Ongoing Resourcing Scheme.

 

Provide professional support and guidance to schools, teacher and families and provides appropriate specialist intervention plans • Assess, analyse, hypothesise, collaboratively plan, support and monitor the implementation of individual (or group) intervention plans for students who have additional learning needs.

 

Salary range: $95,000 – $100,866 plus KiwiSaver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

About our group and team | Mātau rōpū ake

 

Regional education teams work alongside schools, kura and communities to achieve equitable education outcomes for all ākonga. Teams deliver projects to address the needs of ākonga by drawing on kōtahitanga (unity and vision), delivering services, building relationships and implementing strategy with a local lense. A dedicated Learning Support team delivers an innovative, flexible response to ākonga and whānau in response to identified needs.
