About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga
- Permanent part-time (0.5FTE) position.
Do you have a passion for working with data and an interest in growing your data extraction, reporting and analysis skills?
The Analyst role supports the work of the Ministry of Education’s Te Mahau regional teams by analysing and interpreting data to inform and support internal and external work programmes. The Analyst provides information, guidance and analytical support to relevant internal staff to support their work with the sector including responding to requests for information and preparing written communications, working papers, reports and presentations.
Salary range: $74,815 - $90,347 per annum + KiwiSaver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

About you | Mōhou ake
To be successful in this role, you will need to have the following capabilities and competencies:
- recent, relevant experience in collecting, collating and analysing data and information
- a proven ability in using data and insights to identify trends, risks and opportunities, and to influence and guide organisational and system-level decision making
- strong written communication, numerical, statistical and information technology skills
- exceptional time management and work prioritisation skills
- excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively across integrated teams
- the ability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tangata whenuatanga
- the ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.
About our group and team | Mātau rōpū ake
Te Mahau is a frontline group that collectively provides leadership and integrated services to the sector and others. This includes services such as learning support and education advice.
As a frontline group we develop and harness existing relationships with communities at the regional and local level, including deep relationships with iwi and hapū.
We also collectively strengthen relationships with our diverse communities who support Māori, Pacific peoples, disabled ākonga and/or ākonga with learning support needs, and ākonga from disadvantaged backgrounds.
