About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga
School Transport supports equitable and excellent educational outcomes by enabling access to appropriate learning environments through safe, effective and efficient transport options. The Transport Coordinator role supports this through the processing of applications and payments, provision of customer and relationship management, and provision of system support.
As a Transport coordinator you will:
- Assess and process Specialised School Transport Assistance (SESTA) applications, coordinate between schools, caregivers and transport providers when their has been an incident on a SESTA vehicle and provide advice to management on requests for exceptions.
- Assess and process Conveyance Allowance applications and provide advice to management on requests for exceptions.
- Deliver accurate and timely payments to caregivers, transport providers and schools.
- Provide high quality customer service and relationship management to stakeholders and customers (including caregivers, Transport Providers and schools).
- Provide internal and external advice and support for Pokapū Waka Kura (School Transport ICT system).
- Stay up to date with School Transport policy and processes to support good decision making and accurate advice to internal and external customers.
Salary range: $65,801 - $79,195 per annum + 3% kiwi saver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

To be successful in this role you will have the following:
- Experience in a complex organisation

- Good and proven oral and written communications, including the ability to present complex issues clearly and concisely.

- Skilled with Microsoft office suite, in particular Excel, Word and Outlook.
- The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.

School Transport is part of the Te Pae Aronui group. Te Pae Aronui was established to help drive a focus on equity by connecting across the Ministry and providing expert support and services into the regions.
We use our functions and capabilities collectively to shape and influence the direction of education in Aotearoa New Zealand by gathering insights, regulation, providing service design and delivery functions, and understanding ākonga and whānau, communities and businesses.
Te Pae Aronui has a crucial contribution and role to help reshape education, so all children and young people have their unique needs met and reach their potential, both by providing the integrated services necessary for this shift, but also by driving a focus in its work on equity across the education system.
