About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga
We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Team Manager, Procurement Services. This leadership role involves spearheading the Education Services Procurement portfolio, ensuring successful business outcomes, and contributing to the development of a thriving education sector. As the Team Manager, you will lead the delivery of Education Services Special projects, offering support, advice, and direction to internal stakeholders while fostering relationships with suppliers and markets to unlock new opportunities.
In this role you will:
- Work with customers and clients to plan strategic procurement activities so that the services can be delivered on time.
- Develop sourcing strategies in partnership with the Procurement Network and client groups across the sector.
- Work closely with client groups on key future initiative requirements.
- Identify and manage probity risk issues.
- Allocate workflow and resources to meet commitments.
- Identify barriers for successful procurement and their mitigation.
- Lead client leadership meetings on commissioning key programmes.
- You will make decisions in accordance with the Ministry’s policies and delegations’ framework.
Salary range: $121,139.00 – 181,709.00 per annum + 3% KiwiSaver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

About you | Mōhou ake
You will need:
- 5-10 years of procurement experience, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of each stage of the procurement process.
- Be up to date with industry trends and best practices.
- Proven track record in team leadership, guiding and motivating teams to deliver exceptional results.
- Experience in developing and executing workplans aligned with organizational strategies and work programs.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and contribute to organisational change initiatives with successful outcomes.
- Skilled in building and leading inclusive and diverse teams, fostering a safe, open, and responsive work culture.
- Proven expertise in building strong relationships to achieve shared objectives.
- The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.
