The Team Manager, Health and Safety plays a vital role in protecting our most valuable asset – our people. This is a critical role to ensure our people remain safe and well protected in the workplace.
As the Team Manager, Health and Safety, you will lead, manage people, plans and resources to support the implementation and management of health and safety risks across the Ministry. You will provide expert advice and support to staff and key stakeholders across the Ministry including training, incident management, engagement (through tools, resources and self-service options) and reporting to build overall health and safety capability and maturity.

About you | Mōhou ake
We’re looking for a motivated, safety-conscious individual to lead our small but dedicated Health and Safety team.
You will have the ability to support the development and implementation of risk mitigation strategies to reduce the Ministry’s health and safety risk profile, while working within the Ministry’s risk management framework.
You will also offer:
- Sound team leadership experience.
- Proven track record of building and maintaining trusted relationships with colleagues and internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in developing, monitoring, improving and maintaining functional workflows and processes.
- Experience in, and working knowledge of the health and safety legislation
- The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.
