About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga

 

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Salesforce Developer to join a high-impact team supporting the Ministry’s enterprise CRM platform. This role is central to the scalability and evolution of our Salesforce-based products that underpins service delivery and engagement across the education sector.

 

You’ll work within a cross-functional team to establish a robust, scalable and secure Platform that enables extensible user-centred products to be implemented on the Salesforce platform. Supported by Digital Practices, the team plays a key role in enabling smarter service delivery and better outcomes for learners, whānau, and educators.

 

 

Salary range: $100,296- $121,490 per annum + 3% kiwi saver.  The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

About you | Mōhou ake

 

You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.

 

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

 

  • Prior experience within the New Zealand Government would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Proven experience developing on the Salesforce platform (Lightning Web Components, Aura Components, Apex, Flows, Omnistudio SOQL).
  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce configuration-first approaches and declarative tools, such as: App Builder, Flow Builder, Dynamic Forms, Permission Sets, and Record Types.
  • Experience with Service Cloud, Public Sector Solutions (PSS), or Experience Cloud is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of agile delivery practices and DevOps tooling (e.g., Azure DevOps, Git), including version control and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience with integration patterns and APIs (Mulesoft, REST/SOAP).
  • The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.

Matihiko | Digital holds the strategic lead on technology matters across the Ministry. This includes oversight of digital services in the Ministry, leading the cross-agency strategy ‘Connected Ako: Digital and Data for Learning’, enabling education system wide planning and investment in digital services, and ensuring the Ministry’s alignment with broader best-practice government digital and data direction and guidance.
