About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga

 

The Senior Procurement Specialist is responsible for managing ICT/Digital portfolios (category management), including communicating, understanding and providing advice about the procurement strategy, developing documentation, managing the process through to award of contracts and providing strategic support to the Ministry and the wider education sector, specifically schools. It supports the effective use of sourcing strategies for resources, goods and services to ensure best public value outcomes are obtained.

 

Salary range: $99,496 - $120,690 per annum + 3% kiwi saver.  The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

As a Senior Procurement Specialist in the Digital Procurement team, you’ll play a vital role in developing and delivering procurements that support the Ministry and the education sector.

 

To be effective in the role, you will have:

 

  • Proven skills negotiating challenging situations with both internal and external groups without damaging relationships.
  • Experience in building relationships and partnerships to achieve shared outcomes.
  • The ability to advise and to communicate in a simple and easy to understand manner.
  • Experience in public sector procurement, including a sound understanding and application of the Government Procurement Rules and DIA Marketplace panels
  • Digital Procurement experience.
  • The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.
