About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga

 

We’re looking for a skilled Senior Buyers Desk Advisor to join our established Procure to Pay team in one of two permanent advisor roles. This position plays a key part in delivering our specialist P2P services, while supporting the growth and capability of both the team and our customers.

 

As a senior member of the team, you will:

 

  • Provide high‑quality, specialist procurement support across the full Procure to Pay lifecycle
  • Mentor and coach colleagues to build knowledge and confidence
  • Partner regularly with corporate service teams to ensure smooth, efficient transactional operations across the Ministry
  • Support the Manager in delivering business plans and driving continuous improvement
  • Contribute to both day‑to‑day operational delivery and tactical service development

 

Based in Wellington and supporting customers nationwide, this role offers variety, visibility, and the chance to make a real impact every day. Salary range is $100,296 to $110,893 per annum and 3% Kiwi Saver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

To thrive in this role, you’ll work collaboratively with key internal stakeholders across Corporate Integrated Services and the business groups we support. You’ll be part of a service focused team that delivers a wide range of offerings, from self-service guidance to fully supported services, across multiple systems. This includes developing resources and building knowledge for both our team and our customers.

 

In this senior position, you’ll take pride in delivering at both an operational and tactical level. You’ll mentor and uplift the team’s capability, while helping the Manager strengthen service excellence and ensure our work delivers real value within the System Stewardship and Operations function of the Ministry.

 

You will also bring:

 

  • Experience with Oracle Fusion Procurement modules
  • Experience with SAP Fieldglass contingent workforce modules
  • Experience mentoring, influencing, and supporting change
  • Experience with SharePoint document management
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to adapt in a dynamic, evolving environment
  • A commitment to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.
