As a Senior Adviser in Te Ranga Taunaki, you’ll bring your mātauranga Māori, design expertise, and deep commitment to equity to co-create services that reflect the aspirations of our people.

 

You’ll work alongside a passionate, supportive team within Te Pae Aronui – a group of like-minded individuals who share your drive to uplift Māori learners and whānau. Together, you’ll support Māori-led initiatives, build frameworks for authentic Tiriti-based partnerships, and help shape a system that truly serves ākonga Māori.

 

This role is ideal for someone who is grounded in te ao Māori, thrives in collaborative spaces, and is ready to make a lasting impact for ākonga Māori.

 

He nui ake tēnei i te mahi noa iho – he whai wāhi ki tētahi kaupapa nui e whakamana ana i Te Tiriti o Waitangi, ā, e āhei ana ki te tautoko i ngā iwi me ngā rōpū Māori kia ārahi i ā rātou ake rongoā mātauranga. Kawea mai e koe tō mātauranga Māori, ō pūkenga hoahoa, me tō ū ki te mana taurite hei waihanga ratonga e hāngai ana ki ngā wawata o tō tātou iwi Māori.

 

Ka mahi ngātahi koe me tētahi tīma tautoko, ngākau nui hoki i roto i Te Pae Aronui – he rōpū o te hunga e pērā ana te ngākau, e whai ana i te huarahi kotahi hei hiki i te mana o ngā ākonga Māori me ō rātou whānau. Ka tautoko i ngā kaupapa ārahi-a-iwi, ka waihanga i ngā tūāpapa mō ngā hononga Tiriti tūturu, ā, ka āwhina ki te hanga i tētahi pūnaha mātauranga e tino hāpai ana i ngā ākonga Māori.

 

He tūranga tēnei mō te tangata e ū ana ki te ao Māori, e pai ana ki te mahi tahi, ā, kua rite ki te tuku i tōna kaha hei whakaaweawe i te ao

 

Salary range: $85,225 - $103,071 per annum + 3% KiwiSaver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

About you | Mōhou ake

 

We’re looking for someone who:

 

  • Speaks and writes confidently in te reo Māori, and can engage naturally in Māori environments
  • Understands kaupapa Māori design and knows how to create services that reflect Māori values and ways of being
  • Builds strong, trusting relationships and brings people together to work towards shared goals
  • Knows what Te Tiriti o Waitangi means in practice, and is committed to making it real in the education system
  • Has experience working in education, or understands how the system works and where it can improve
  • Is comfortable working in projects and change environments, and can help guide others through new ways of doing things
  • Communicates well with iwi, Māori organisations and other stakeholders, and knows how to listen, influence and collaborate
  • Has a relevant qualification or equivalent experience, and is ready to bring their skills to a kaupapa that matters
  • The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.
