 We are looking for a highly capable Senior Advisor, Contracts to join our Education Workforce group and help drive the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of key initiatives that support the education workforce

 

About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga

 

The Senior Advisor, Contracts is responsible for managing, administering, and evaluating a portfolio of contracts that support and strengthen the education workforce. This role plays a key part in supplier relationship management, as well as the monitoring of contract performance and compliance using best‑practice approaches.

 

With a strong attention to detail, the Senior Advisor provides high‑quality advice and insights that help shape programme design and delivery. Working across multidisciplinary teams, the role offers expert input and oversight on all contract-related matters, ensuring milestones are achieved and programmes remain effective, relevant, and aligned with organisational priorities.

 

Salary range: $84,425 - $102,271.00 per annum + 3% KiwiSaver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

You will also offer:

 

  • Experience in complex organisations delivering services, programmes, or projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong relationship‑building skills and the ability to influence, negotiate, and collaborate effectively.
  • Understanding of Government Procurement Rules and best‑practice procurement, contract administration, and contract lifecycle management.
  • Proven analytical capability; able to interpret data, develop insights, and produce high‑quality advice, briefs, and business cases.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, practical advice.
  • Ability to identify and manage risks, ensuring quality outcomes and compliance.
  •  Experience working with diverse communities; knowledge of the education sector is an advantage.
  • The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.
