About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga
The Reporting Analyst will be required to contribute to the design, preparation and execution of reporting solutions and analyse and report on business objectives, operational activities and strategic initiatives.
Your key priorities will include:
- Creating new reports for business stakeholders
- Analysis and Data Management
- Quality Assurance of data being used
- Presentations of solutions to internal customers
- Liaising with Internal Stakeholders to improve reporting as a service

Salary range: $74,815 - $90,347 per annum + 3% kiwi saver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

About you | Mōhou ake
You will be a successful Reporting Analyst who has a strong passion and understanding of data and information design, modelling, acquisition to central data stores and presentation of data. Ideally you will have experience working in a role requiring analysis of complex issues and have the proven ability to deliver.
You will also offer the ability to:
- Communicate at both a general business level and technical level
- Provide an extensive and sound understanding of analytical methodologies and to effectively apply these to understand practical issues
- Work collaboratively in a highly motivated cross functional team environment.
- Apply logical thinking to real world problems and translate data into insights
- The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.
Te Pou Rangatōpū ,Matihiko, Data Delivery team works with the multiple groups within Matihiko(digital), to ensure the effective, pragmatic, smart reuse and management of data, information management systems and technology across Matihiko. We support efficiencies in Te Pou Rangatōpū ,Matihiko and new business activity, as well as ensuring business information and systems are performing optimally, delivering expected outcomes and are fit for purpose. The team provides the ability for progression to using some new and emerging technologies, within a supportive and flexible working environment.
About our group and team | Mātau rōpū ake
Matihiko | Digital is the Ministry’s digital centre of excellence, designed to deliver modern technology solutions and align digital practices across the organisation. It operates under a Digital Operating Model structured into delivery groups, such as Ministry Products & Platforms, Sector Product & Service Delivery, and Business Product & Service Delivery. These groups are supported by enabling functions like Digital Assurance, Cyber Security, and Practice Management for architecture and development expertise. The model aims to optimise efficiency, strengthen technical leadership, and ensure consistent governance of digital assets.
Within this framework, the Information Services team sits in the Data Delivery Kāhui, alongside Education Data Warehousing functions. This team focuses on managing data-related products and services, including the School Property Data Warehouse, systems, and projects that enhance data quality and integration. Their role is pivotal in elevating the value of data assets, improving cost efficiency, and enabling robust analytics capabilities for the Ministry.
