About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga

 

The Principal Advisor supports the Manager, Integration and Oversight, with a particular focus on Equity, contributing thought leadership and expertise to strategic priorities, work programmes and complex system issues to support the achievement of outcomes aligned to the Ministry’s purpose and agreed strategies.

 

You will lead the provision of specialised work across a range of programmes and services designed to achieve the successful implementation of new initiatives and change to support our front-line teams. Maintaining a national overview of the activities being delivered and providing guidance, support and improvements to ensure the delivery of high-quality programmes and services. This role will be embedded in ensuring we take practical actions with Te Tiriti o Waitangi and understanding the systemic impacts of inequities with priority populations (i.e. rural, disability, Māori, Pasifika and ethnic minorities).

 

 

Salary range: $119,171 - $144,560 per annum plus 3% kiwi saver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

About you | Mōhou ake

 

We are seeking an experienced Principal Advisor to ensure that Equity is at the forefront of sector change and implementation.  You will have knowledge and experience in leading and implementing new initiatives, having previously lead initiatives to address inequities. A robust understanding of working with priority populations will be advantageous. 

 

You are a natural leader and collaborator and have a great track record of achieving results through influence and partnership. You are a strong team player; focused on results, driving greater equity and better education for all.

 

You will also offer:

 

  • Proven experience in developing content and educational materials using multi-modal approaches such as written, audio and video content
  • Experience in using AI technologies and automation processes to support a movement towards integration or operational efficiencies
  • Experience using qualitative and quantitative research methodologies to provide evidence-based decision-making models and intervention logic techniques
  • The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.

 

About our group and team | Mātau rōpū ake

 

The Sector Change and Implementation Group supports the Ministry of Education to successfully implement initiatives, services and policies that impact the Education sector, our frontline takiwā (regional) staff and ākonga and whānau.  We partner with our takiwā colleagues to understand local context and priorities, and to support their leadership of successful change in the sector.

 

The Integration and Oversight Team supports Te Tāhuhu with major and critical programmes delivering change into the sector.  We provide oversight, coordination and provide a feedback loop for local and regional intelligence to ensure the successful implementation of services, supports and policies.
