About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga

 

  • Two permanent, full time opportunities

 

The Delivery Lead provides end‑to‑end coordination across programmes, projects and initiatives within Te Pou Ohumahi Mātauranga | Education Workforce (TPOM). You will scope, plan and lead the delivery and transition of changes that directly support the education workforce, ensuring initiatives are well‑designed, well‑implemented, and deliver their intended benefits.

 

Working closely with managers, subject matter experts and stakeholders, you’ll oversee multiple complex projects, strengthen delivery capability, and champion continuous improvement. The role is central to ensuring TPOM work is aligned with Ministry strategic outcomes, and that the workforce receives high‑quality, practical support through periods of change.

 

Salary range: $100,296 - $121,490 per annum + 3% KiwiSaver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

  • A collaborative style, with resilience and adaptability in fast‑moving environments
  • Proficiency with MS Office, MS Project, Visio, Jira, Confluence

About our group and team | Mātau rōpū ake

 

Our group leads the sector workforce employment relations, the relationship with Education Payroll Limited and we hold the responsibility for bargaining. We support the organisation so that the key role of the education sector workforce is integrated into their work programmes and services.

 

We advance the education workforce strategy, including a focus on specialist services, employment relations, pay equity, education payroll, supply and scholarship functions. Our group ensures the system has the right people in the right places at the right time for early learning, kōhanga reo, schools and kura. We have links to tertiary education organisations, in particular wānanga, iwi and Māori, peak bodies and others, in the co-design of solutions to workforce challenges, such as provision of teachers with te reo and mātauranga Māori knowledge and Pacific languages.

 

Within TPOM, the Workforce Experience and Delivery team operates as a multidisciplinary group providing the workforce with the services and support needed to thrive. We work collaboratively to deliver solutions that improve workforce experience and enable a strong focus on student success.
