As our Contract and System Administrator, you’ll be the go-to person for reliable procurement system support, offering guidance and direction to users across the Ministry. Your work will ensure our systems operate seamlessly and empower teams to make informed decisions.
In this role, you will:
- Deliver accurate, timely, and well-presented analysis and reporting to support strategic decision-making.
- Respond to information requests on contracts and supplier spend, providing clarity and confidence to stakeholders.
- Be a trusted advisor, helping teams navigate procurement systems with ease.
- Proactively work with system provider/s and key system users to find solutions to enhancements to systems and business processes.

Salary range: $100,296- $121,490 per annum +3% kiwisaver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary based on their individual skills and experience.

To be successful in this role you will have the following capabilities and competencies:
- Have a passion for data integrity, analysis and reporting.
- Be proactive and show initiative to seek opportunities for business process enhancements
- Skilled in developing, optimising, and maintaining reports and dashboards in Power BI
- Customer focused, is dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers.
- Have an Interest in public sector structure, governance, processes and systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including communication between technical and non-technical teams.
- Strong organisational skills
- Eye for detail
- Numerate, able to manipulate and interpret data
- Excel skills to medium - high level
- Computer literacy and the ability to quickly learn business systems such as Finance and Procurement systems
You will also have:
- Communicate effectively (i.e. tailor messages so that they are clear, succinct, and resonate with their audience).
- Persuade others (i.e. ass questions to understand others’ concerns; and present a clear and convincing rationale for ideas).
- Support organisational performance (i.e. suggest improvements to processes to achieve gains in effectiveness and efficiency).
- Manages internal relationship (i.e. contribute to their team, work collaboratively with others across the organisation, and take an organisation-wide view).
- Manage external relationships (i.e. interact effectively with customers and other external stakeholders).
- Navigate political issues (i.e. ensure that written documentation and verbal presentations reflect relevant political sensitivities).
- Manage and deliver on work priorities (i.e. plan and organise self to deliver work commitments to required timeframes and quality standards).
- The ability to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.
