We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Advisor to join our Content and Channels team.
As Advisor, Online Content, you’ll keep our websites and digital channels accurate, accessible and up to date. You’ll publish content, manage vacancy listings, and provide first-line customer service for the Education Gazette and its vacancy service. You’ll also help with e-newsletters and social content, and help maintain standards across our channels.
You’ll:
- publish, update and retire content in our content management systems, including Silverstripe and Drupal, following Ministry standards
- vet and publish vacancies, notices, and professional development listings within agreed service levels
- build and send e-newsletters
- prepare simple social posts from approved content
- respond to customer queries by phone and email, using clear, friendly communication, and escalate issues when needed
- complete basic accessibility and usability checks; fix common issues and escalate complex issues
- capture basic analytics and feedback to support improvement
- ensure compliance with Government Web Standards, accessibility requirements and copyright law
- support urgent updates during incidents or emergencies.
Salary range: $74,815 to $90,347 + 3% KiwiSaver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

You’re organised, tech-savvy and comfortable juggling multiple tasks. You enjoy working with content and digital tools, and you’re committed to making information clear and accessible.
You bring experience in:
- hands-on web publishing in a large or complex organisation
- preparing content for websites and digital channels (including basic image handling)
- applying accessibility and usability standards
- providing friendly, solution-focused customer support by phone and email
- using web analytics tools to inform improvements.
You also have:
- strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- clear, plain-language writing and editing skills for web
- excellent communication skills and a friendly, professional manner
- the ability to work collaboratively and proactively
- a willingness to learn, take feedback and adapt quickly
- the ability and willingness to uphold the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.
About our group and team | Mātau rōpū ake
This role is in the Content and Channels team in Te Pou Rangatōpū | Corporate.
Content and Channels ensure the Ministry’s social media communities, Education Gazette publication, and corporate websites effectively meet the needs of the Ministry and our audiences. As the kaitiakitanga | guardians of these channels, we maintain their high quality by offering strategic, audience-focused advice and services.
