About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga

 

This is a fulltime permanent role leading our Pōneke / Wellington City Hub and is part of our wider Greater Wellington Regional Leadership Team reporting to the Director of Education.

 

As Manager, Integrated Services, you will lead a team of experts across education, curriculum, and learning support to deliver a highly responsive, accessible and integrated local support function for schools, kura, kōhanga reo, early learning providers, ākonga, whānau and educators. You will develop and implement strategies and work programmes aligned to the Ministry’s purpose and priorities, ensuring cohesive and effective delivery of services and advice. This Hub currently services 54 schools and kura, 98 early learning services and has a team of 45 staff.

 

Key aspects of the role include:

 

  • Delivery of responsive and accessible support services to educators.
  • Driving the delivery of government priorities
  • Overseeing the learning support delivery model and learning action plans to get services delivered quickly to children and young people.
  • Providing support to learning and education support specialists.
  • Monitoring of budgets and spending
  • Embed Te Tiriti o Waitangi (Te Tiriti) principles into all activities and reporting roles.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across our wider region and the motu to share information, insights, and improvements.
  • Provide a cohesive and strong connections and relationship with a wider range of stakeholders in conjunction with regionally based Managers, Leadership Advisors and Strategic Advisor Māori colleagues.

 

Salary range: $142,856 - $214,284 per annum + kiwi saver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

About you | Mōhou ake

 

You will be confident, positive and committed to supporting the delivery of quality education. You will have a relevant tertiary qualification with experience across the education or government sector (essential). Strengths and credibility in school operations, governance, curriculum and teaching & learning are an advantage.

You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.


You will be able to demonstrate:

 

  • Previous operational leadership experience in a complex environment, including effective risk management.
  • Confidence when working with ambiguity and leading through organisational change.
  • The ability to provide advice and build trusting relationships with a broad range of audiences.
  • Ability to interpret and act on data and insights.
  • A strong understanding of the New Zealand educational system.
  • The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.

Our regional educational services team is the key interface between Te Tāhuhu te Mātauranga | Ministry of Education and education providers. It is our role to ensure that sector leaders and the communities in which they operate have access to the expertise, programmes and resources that will allow our children and young people to reach their full potential.
