About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga

 

  • Permanent, part-time (0.5FTE)

As Te Kahu Tōī IWS Psychologist you will work as part of a team to understand the needs of the young person and family and implement evidence-based interventions in your areas of expertise. As part of a wraparound team, you will provide guidance and support to the team, working collaboratively with the child/young person, parents/caregivers and family/whānau, schools, agencies and local communities. Specifically, you will:

 

  • Identify patterns or contributing factors that may be influencing learning, wellbeing, and behaviour.
  • Contribute to strength-based, collaborative, team decision-making processes to meet the young person's underlying needs.
  • Provide ongoing, individualised and dynamic psychological assessment and intervention.
  • Support all those around the child to use evidence informed practice.
  • Monitor implementation effectiveness by supporting data collection and informed decision making.

Salary range: $85,416 - $121,466 per annum + 3% KiwiSaver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

About you | Mōhou ake

 

We are looking for:

 

  • A New Zealand Registered Psychologist under the Health Practitioners Competency Assurance Act who holds a current practicing certificate.
  • Ability to contribute your specialist skills within multi-agency, trans-disciplinary settings with the child/youth at the centre of everything you do.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An ability to work effectively with children, young people and their families, teachers and other professionals across a diverse range of settings.
  • The ability to understand and apply the principles of Te Tirirti o Waitangi and tangatawhenuatanga.
  • Full driver’s license.
