About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga

 

The Business Support Coordinator is a full-time, permanent role supporting the Manager Business Support in delivering services across the Canterbury region. This dynamic position requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and relationship-building skills, along with the ability to analyse systems and drive continuous improvement.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating operational activities and resolving issues to support service delivery.
  • Building effective relationships with internal teams and external partners.
  • Leading and mentoring team members through training, coaching, and task management.
  • Managing regional enquiries and ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Supporting the implementation of practical solutions and frameworks for future needs.

 

Salary range: $65,000 - $78,000 per annum + 3% kiwi saver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

  • Experience supporting operations within a complex organisation.
  • A proactive approach to reviewing business processes and identifying opportunities for automation and improvement.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and partnerships to achieve shared outcomes.
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching, mentoring, and task allocation within a team.
  • High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Teams and Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Understanding and application of Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles.
  • The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.

About our group and team | Mātau rōpū ake

 

The Business Support Team support and enable the work of the Canterbury Learning Support and Education Teams to deliver effective services across the region. This includes working alongside others to develop and implement new initiatives and support continuous improvement. The team plays a vital role in contributing to and achieving the Ministry's overall goals.
