The Executive Assistant provides executive support to the Director of Education Te Tai Whenua Hawkes Bay Tairawhiti by effectively managing the Director’s schedule and performing a wide variety of complex and confidential administrative tasks. This role also supports the Director to ensure the group is well positioned to deliver on its overarching strategic and operational objectives and ensuring collaboration across `the Hawkes Bay Tairawhiti region. Secondment or fixed- term opportunity from January to September 2026
In this role you will:
- Provide high quality, proactive and confidential administration support.
- Pro-actively manage diaries, travel, meetings, and logistics effectively and efficiently.
- Manage private and confidential information, situations, and issues.
- Be a great team player.
Salary range: $65,801 - $72,444 per annum + 3% KiwiSaver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.

About you | Mōhou ake
You will have proven significant EA experience, ideally within the public sector.
You will also offer:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to calmly and effectively address complex situations
- Attention to detail and excellent time management and organisational skills
- The ability to build and maintain strong relationships across a diverse group of contacts.
- The ability and willingness to adhere to the Public Service Standards of Integrity and Conduct.

Te Mahau | Te Tai Whenua (Central) is a frontline group. Our frontline groups collectively provide leadership and integrated services to the sector and others. This includes services such as learning support and education advice, and regulation functions for schools and early learning services.
